Teaching is needed when the card design that you use is not recognized by the BridgeSorter.

It is crucial for the card recognition that you follow these instructions when you teach the machine a new card design.

You can study the video, to ge an idea how it works; but please note that the video shows clicking of all cards; which is no longer needed.

1. TEACHING ORDER
The cards MUST be taught with the club, diamond and heart twos first and then the spade suit in ascending order. Please make sure that the bottom card is as far back as possible when you start.

2. NAME
You also have to select a type of indices and enter an intuitive design name such as e.g. "Nintendo plastic".

3. INDEX TYPE
Select the index type that matches your cards. Use "Other" if none of the listed types fit your cards and make sure that the Rank setting for Other in the Languages settings dialog matches your cards. Click Go when done.

4. SAVE CONTOUR
You need to click on the "Save entry" button, or, better, use the Enter key to confirm your selection of each contour,

5. USING THE DESIGN
Finally you need to select the design in BOS's main user interface before usage.
